American Express Membership Rewards Program: Small Business Saturday is Back!

The nice people at the American Express Membership Rewards Program are showing amazing support for the small business owner again this year.  In honor of National Small Business Day, the tag line is “when we all shop small, it will be huge.”  I love this promotion.  It basically works like this:

If you use your American Express Card to purchase something at a small business on Saturday November 26, 2011, American Express will reimburse you for $25 on your next statement.  That’s’ 25 clams you didn’t have the day before.

But wait there’s more! The people at American Express Membership Rewards Program are helping small businesses promote the day with easy to use $100 face book ad coupons, E-marketing materials, and in-store signage.

Hey this sounds too good to be true!  Is there a catch?

There is always a catch and this time there is no exception.  You have to register your card ahead of time but that is easy to do.  The registration link is not open yet, but follow them on Facebook to get the update as to when it is available.  We will post it as soon as it is up so check back here.

Also, you are only able to use the $25 credit at one business per card.  So choose wisely young credit padawan.  Don’t buy a round of coffee for the gang. 

Finally, this is a United State only deal.  If you are out of the country, don’t expect the $25 credit.

$25 bones are nothing to shake a stick at, and many local businesses will be running promotions to capture your dollars so look for a two for one or at least a 10% off of whatever.
